The Family: God’s Vinyard

Image
Beloved in Christ, We might see other things more precious to us than our families. Yet, how often do we see them through the eyes of God—as a vineyard entrusted to our care, planted by His hands, watered by His grace, and destined to bear fruit for His Kingdom? In Matthew 21:33–46, Jesus shares a powerful parable about a landowner who lovingly planted a vineyard and entrusted it to tenants. These tenants failed in their responsibility. They rejected the servants sent by the owner—and finally, they killed his son. This parable reveals much about Israel’s rejection of God’s Word and, ultimately, His Son. But it also speaks deeply to us about relationships, especially the family, as the first field in which God expects His Word to bear fruit. Let us reflect today on this truth:  The rejection of the Word and the Son in our homes is a rejection of the Father Himself. But if we receive His Word and honor His Son, our families will flourish as fruitful vineyards in the Kingdom o...

Image

Safe Return of the Astronauts: A Reflection on the Value of Human Life

Image
Watching the return of the astronauts, I cannot help but lift my heart in gratitude to God for their safe arrival back to Earth. Their return is not only a testament to the remarkable advancements of science and technology but also to the deep care and commitment of the United States to ensure the safety of its people. This, in itself, is a powerful reminder of the immense value of the human soul—how much effort, planning, and resources are dedicated to preserving life. Yet, even as I rejoice over this moment of triumph, my heart is heavy with grief. While great measures are taken to save and protect some, countless others are mercilessly slaughtered by those driven by bankrupt ideologies. It is a sobering contrast—one that compels us to reflect on the sanctity of every human life. May this moment remind us of our duty to uphold the dignity of all people, to reject violence and hatred, and to stand for the sacredness of life. Just as we celebrate the return of these astronauts, let us ...

Honor Your Father and Mother

Image
The commandment to “Honor your father and mother” (Ephesians 6:2) is a foundational principle in Christian life, deeply rooted in both the Old and New Testaments. It originates from the Fifth Commandment delivered by God in Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16 and is reaffirmed by the Apostle Paul in the New Testament. Paul emphasizes that honoring parents is not merely a cultural tradition but a divine mandate associated with God’s promise of blessing. Within the Christian framework, honoring one’s parents transcends mere obligation; it reflects obedience to God and exemplifies respect, gratitude, and love within both the family and the broader Church community.  Biblical Context and Meaning  Honoring one’s parents is a fundamental biblical principle that ensures both individual and communal well-being. It reflects God’s design for family structure, respect, and order. In both the Old and New Testaments, it is presented as a moral duty with profound spiritual and practical i...

Image

Wives, Submit to Your Husbands

Image
The biblical teaching on submission in marriage, particularly in Ephesians 5:22, “Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord,” is often misunderstood. However, when properly understood, it presents a model of love, respect, and divine order that fosters a strong and harmonious marriage. This teaching is not about oppression but about reflecting the unity and love found in Christ’s relationship with His Church. Why Should a Wife Submit to Her Husband?  In a world that often equates submission with weakness, the biblical call for a wife to submit to her husband may seem outdated or controversial. However, when properly understood, submission is not about inferiority or blind obedience but about embracing God’s divine order for marriage. It is a reflection of the love, trust, and harmony that God designed for husbands and wives. The Scriptures present marriage as a sacred covenant in which both spouses have distinct but complementary roles. The husband is called to l...
