It is a prayerful expression of faith rooted in Scripture and inspired by a deep desire to seek God’s wisdom amidst life’s challenges: Me: Lord, as I watch the wildfires ravage California, my heart is heavy with sorrow. How do You see what is happening? God: My child, My creation groans under the weight of sin and its consequences. These wildfires, like other calamities, are a reminder that the world is not as I intended it to be. I mourn with you for the pain and destruction you see. “For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.” (Romans 8:22) Me: Lord, why do these disasters happen?
