Revealing the Father through the Book of Revelation: Foreword
More than ten years ago, I began a series of lectures on the Book of Revelation with the congregation of St. Mark’s Church in Jersey City, entitled “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.” These lectures were recorded and broadcast on many Christian TV channels. At the same time, I drafted a commentary on the Book of Revelation by the same title but I did not publish it. I was waiting for the Heavenly Father, by His Holy Spirit, to reveal to me more deeply and to choose the appropriate time to publish the book.
In recent years, proclaiming the heavenly Father has occupied my heart and mind. These thoughts about the heavenly Father have refined my views of the Book of Revelation. I realized that the Book of Revelation is not just “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.” Instead, it is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God [the Father] gave Him” (Revelation 1:1). That means it is the Revelation of the heavenly Father to us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, I had to consider revising the entire draft of the book.
Four months ago, the heavenly Father prepared a pleasant surprise for me. Jeremiah, my eldest grandchild, was reading the Book of Revelation. He came to me asking about the meaning of “the tribulation of the ten days” (Revelation 2:10). We talked about the symbolism of numbers in the Book of Revelation. In my heart, our conversation was like a heavenly call to publish “Revealing the Father through the Book of Revelation.” May the publishing of this book, and your journey to study the Book of Revelation, be for the glory of God the Father in Jesus Christ our Lord.
